Where we started... |
Where we are now... |
The idea for a 100 Women Who Care - Polk/Burnett Chapter started in the summer of 2018. Three friends who wanted to make a difference in their community joined forces to start the group. Our first meeting was held on August 8, 2018 with 49 members.

Our members leave our meetings feeling great and often come back with their friends! 100 Women Who Care - Polk/Burnett is thriving and continues to grow. We surpassed our goal of 100 Women Who Care at our fourth meeting, and our numbers continue to rise! Join us!

How it works...
Our group meets quarterly, on the second Wednesday evening of February, May, August and November. Meetings include a 30 minute registration/social time followed by a one hour meeting. During the meeting, four local non-profit groups give a brief presentation to educate our members about their cause. At the end of the presentations, each member votes anonymously for the group they feel is most deserving to receive our quarterly donation. The group receiving the most votes is our selected charity for that meeting and will receive a $10,000 donation from our group (assuming that amount of donations is received). The group receiving the second highest amount of votes will receive any donations exceeding $10,000. Each member immediately writes a check for $100 to be distributed to the chosen groups. All members must donate to the selected charities, even if they voted for another group. Two of our presenting non-profit groups will receive large donations to continue their work in our community!
Membership in 100 Women Who Care - Polk/Burnett is a commitment to donate $100 on a quarterly basis, for a total donation of $400 per year. Please take this commitment into consideration before joining the group. But guess what? “Life Happens”! If for any reason a member is not able to donate her committed amount at a meeting, it’s okay! However, if she is unable to donate at two consecutive quarterly meetings, she will not have voting privileges at the next meeting. This process is discreet and private, and members will not be singled out for having missed donations. Voting privileges will be reinstated after the member's next donation. If a member is unable to attend a meeting, but would still like to donate, she can have another member vote in her place and turn in her check or mail her check to our PO Box.
