SIREN - The philanthropic group 100 Women Who Care - Polk/Burnett has decided to cancel their next quarterly meeting scheduled for Wednesday, May 13th. Instead, members are encouraged to support their local businesses and non-profit organizations during this time when many are struggling. The members were offered another option as well, to support the family of Jacob Mangelsen, who recently passed away after a long battle with cancer. Group co-founder Julie Hall said “Jake and Holly Mangelsen have supported our group from the very start, allowing us to hold our quarterly meetings at their event center free of charge. Now, during their time of need, it is our turn to lend support.” The groups members responded in force, and on Saturday, April 11 they were able to present the family with $6,900 in donations to help offset medical bills and support them while their Siren-based businesses are mandated to be closed.
100 Women Who Care - Polk/Burnett will hold their next meeting on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 at The 300 Club in Frederic.
